Welcome to International House Sydney
Established more than 60 years ago, International House is widely regarded as the best language learning and teacher training organisation in the world.
Established in 2001, International House Sydney is the industry leader in both teaching English to international students and training teachers to lead those classrooms.
English language ability is seen as a key step in establishing and developing a successful career in our globalised world. International House Sydney offers you a great opportunity to achieve your goals with English and to further your skills. With a great range of English programs taught by experienced and highly trained teachers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, you will be assured of a rewarding experience.
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is rewarding and challenging. It provides an opportunity to experience new cultures and is a profession experiencing enormous growth – both in Australia and overseas. In order to teach English overseas and in Australia, the right TESOL qualification is important. Quality schools will be looking for teachers with qualifications that are recognised worldwide and by choosing to study at International House TESOL training centre you will have access to recognised TESOL courses such as the Cambridge University CELTA and the Certificate IV in TESOL dual qualification. This will allow you to choose the institute and location that you want to work in rather than restricting yourself to fewer schools.
International House Sydney has had a 30 year history in both Manly and Sydney, and is well known for its quality and excellence in education and service. The success of the company is dependant on the continued support and dedication by our agents and partners.
International House World Organisation is one of the largest groups of language schools in the world, and has been teaching English and 25 modern languages worldwide since 1953.
The International House World Organisation (IHWO) is a network of language schools and teacher training centres worldwide that are committed to implementing high standards of quality and innovation in education and training.
International House was founded in 1953 with the aim of providing an innovative approach for learning English and other languages. The founders, John and Brita Haycraft, were themselves teachers who sought to promote international understanding through language training and teacher training. Haycraft introduced the first training program for teachers of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), which blended teaching theory and practice. This course, developed at International House, was the forerunner of the Cambridge ESOL Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA).
The International House World Organisation is today made up of 155 schools in over 50 countries worldwide. Although these are independent schools, they all share the same philosophy and teaching approach. The aims of International House remain essentially the same as in Haycraft’s day: promoting international understanding through education, providing great environments to learn English and take foreign language classes, and the raising of teacher training standards worldwide.
International House Sydney is proud to be part of the International House World Organisation.
